A guide to skate shoes

Skate shoes are types of shoes designed for use when skateboarding. However, non-skaters do wear these shoes on a regular basis simply because of such many beneficial features as a high degree of comfort, durability and style that prevents bruises on heels. There are several factors that you need to consider when shopping for this type of special shoes.

Material

The upper part of these shoes can be made of different materials including suede, full-grain leather, nubuck leather, action leather and synthetic leather. Choice of material largely depends on the look you wish to present, durability and cost. The sole can also be made of different materials including cable stitched soles for impact protection and soft rubber.

Impact Protection

The high level of impact protection is one reason why many non-skaters choose to wear skate shoes over any other type of shoes. The protection is normally built in the some with focus on the heel. Such protective materials as rubber and gels are often used.

Shoe Level

These types of shoes are generally low shoes. However, you are most likely to come across mid and high top shoes. While low shoes provide for better feet control, they have minima protection. On the other hand, high tops offer high protection but less feet control.

In addition to the above, there are other factors that you also need to consider including lace on a shoe. You may opt to buy a pair with coated laces or one that features straps over laces. You also need to consider whether to buy a bulky or thin pair.
