Introduction to soft shoes

Very common with dancers, soft shoes have of late become very popular footwear within the home. They are particularly suitable for wear during summer when indoors because of their lightness. You can indeed wear them as alternative to sandals so long as your type of floor allows. Two very important considerations you need to have in your mind when shopping for this type of shoes are the material the shoes are made of and type of sole.

Material

These shoes are traditionally made of leather or canvas. Each of these materials has its advantages and disadvantages. While those made of leather are very comfortable, the leather can only stretch a little. A soft shoe made of leather may therefore not suit you in case you have wide feet. On the other hand, those made of canvas are not only comfortable but can also stretch enough to accommodate your wide feet. Those made of canvas are also easy to clean than those made of leather. However, those made of leather are durable than those of canvas.

Sole

Soft shoes are available with either full soles or split soles. While a full sole covers the whole of your underfoot, a split sole only covers your heal and toe areas. A full sole soft shoe provides for sufficient resistance compared to a split sole shoe. The decision on whether to buy a soft shoe with full sole or split sole also depends on shape and look of your feet and by extension your legs. This is because both soles transform the look of your feet and legs in different ways.
